Fistral Beach, Towan Headland & the Harbour
Just minutes from the Carlton, Fistral Beach is one of the most famous surfing beaches in the UK, with consistent Atlantic swell, surf schools, board hire, beachfront cafes and some of the best sunsets in Cornwall. Even if you don’t surf, it is a wonderful place to walk, watch the waves or eat out with a sea view.
On the other side of the headland, the old harbour still has fishing boats, seafood restaurants and boat trips, while Towan Beach, with its famous island and suspension bridge, and Great Western Beach are sheltered spots for swimming, paddling and rock pooling, right next to the town centre.
